Camp Allatoona Aquatics Base patchThe Camp Allatoona Aquatics Base is one of three camps maintained by the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. The base operates on weekends only. It is located on approximately 500 acres fronting Lake Allatoona (see maps) in Woodstock, a short drive northwest of Atlanta, Georgia. We offer year around weekend primitive camping plus seasonal (March thru October) planned weekend programs for all BSA aquatics merit badges, safe boating and safe swim defense/safety afloat, lifeguard, basic and wilderness first aid, and high adventure training for Boy Scouts, Varsity, Venturing/Sea Scouts, and adult scouters, primarily on a weekend basis. Advance reservations are required both for camping and for programs. We operate with a 100% volunteer staff. In addition to seasonal programs at the Camp, our volunteers may be available to provide year around training and advice within the Council for first aid, CPR, safe swim defense/safety afloat, BSA snorkeling, BSA scuba, learn-to-swim programs, the America's Boating Course, and the Ocean Conservancy's Good Mate program which helps boaters develop environmentally sound practices.

Our base is the only scout camp in the United States that offers expert training in ALL the aquatics merit badge skills plus training for the aquatics High Adventure Camps from a wholly volunteer staff. Several of our volunteers are BSA Aquatics Instructors and American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructors. We also count several American Heart Association and American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Instructors among our volunteers. We are also a wonderful development facility for adult leadership in aquatics skills, first aid, and more..

When not being used for our programs, our canoes and rowboats are available to scouts & scout leaders for use in the immediate vicinity of the base following Safe Swim Defense/Safety Afloat guidelines. Our powerboats and sailboats are dedicated to program use.

Our address: 200 Lovingood Drive, Woodstock, Georgia 30189

We look forward to meeting you and your scouts and hope you all will have a great experience at the Camp Allatoona Aquatics Base.
