Thank you for your interest in serving as a staff member at Camp Allatoona Aquatics Base.  We're an all-volunteer staff providing programs and instruction to youth and adults of the Atlanta Area Council and the Southern Region of Boy Scouts of America.

In order to even out the load and give everyone a chance to enjoy themselves, we ask each staff member to make a minimum commitment:

One work day (typically a Saturday);
One special event (typically a Saturday, for
Water Mania, Showando, Scout Show, etc.);
Two scheduled program weekends of your
choice (typically Friday through Sunday); and
One staff development/instruction
standardization workshop (arranged by the
program director).

After receiving your application, your name is passed along to the directors of each program

or support area for review.  Once your application is accepted, we assign weekends according to your indicated preference.  Then you're responsible for covering that weekend.  If no participants register for the date you've selected, you've got the weekend off.  Bring your family to the camp and enjoy yourself, or just stay home and relax.

Of course family and personal considerations will always be the most important factor.  But, by taking a look at your calendar and making a commitment ahead of time, the area directors will be able to better plan to serve the participants.
